Join Art Gene on Thursday 19 March for the opening exhibition of MAS(S) 6.15pm – 8.15pm

Created by artists Tristan Shorr and Rae Champion (CONCRETE) in collaboration with Scottish artist Lomund Campbell, MAS(S) explores themes of migration, refugees, war and loss through the human voice.

A series of generative sound sculptures turn the audio testimonies of refugees into a multi-channel immersive sound experience, culminating in a voice siren that will call out along the British coastline, allowing audiences to actively walk the siren call together, mapping our borders.

Alongside the exhibition, we will be hosting two walks along Walney Promenade. Recorded sounds from MAS(S) will accompany our walk, culminating in a voice siren which will call out along the coastline.

We will meet opposite the Ferry Hotel, 1 Promenade, Walney Island, LA14 3PE.

The walk will be around 30 minutes long, at a slow pace. We will end at our Allotment Soup community growing space on Mill Lane, with hot drinks, biscuits, and chance for conversation.
