What is it?

It’s a trial facilitated visual arts group guided by its members. There might be talks and workshops and group visits to exhibitions.The group will be encouraged to draw, paint, print and learn, working with artists to practice, or to try new methods and materials. Art Gene will host the group and programme the first few meetings; its direction will follow the interests of those who attend regularly.

 

Who is it for?

Anyone interested in the visual arts and would like to connect with others in Furness. Maybe you went to art school and now work in a different field? Maybe you regret not choosing art school and love being creative? Maybe you’re working as a freelance artist and want to widen your network? Or you have a genuine interest in the creative field but don’t know how to get started and engaged? Previous experience in the artistic field is not essential to join Art Commons.

 

When will it happen?

One night monthly, 6.30pm – 8.30pm, or during the day, subject to event categories.

 

Where will it be?

In the Art Gene studios in the Nan Tait Centre, Bath Street, Barrow in Furness, LA14 3TY, locations may change according to event categories.

 

What will it cost?

Generally free, contributions will be on a pay what you can basis. As a charity we welcome donations, a pay as feel. Materials (within reason) will be provided. Refreshments provided.
