Miranda Hill – Curatorial Associate

Miranda is an independent curator, writer and researcher based between the UK and Germany.
Her work revolves around the concept of postnature and explores how approaches to the study of human-altered environments can inform contemporary projects to deepen our understanding of life’s interconnectedness. She does this through practices that nurture care, curiosity, encounters, and collective sharing. Miranda’s interest lies in the mediation and construction of publics – particularly peripheral and fluid environments where knowledge and space are collectively and continually redefined.
She has worked with artists across commercial, public and independent sectors to help realise their ideas. She studied History of Art at the University of Manchester and completed her Masters in Curating Contemporary Art at the Royal College of Art.
Miranda first joined us in 2023 as Programme Associate where she oversaw our Lost Shops Re:discover Barrow programme, co-delivering its wrap-up exhibition and accompanying catalogue to mark the fourth and final year of the project, and other projects and exhibitions including our outdoor exhibition That Wet Stuff (and other things), 2024; If These Walls Could Talk, 2024; Deluge, 2025; Sea Like a Mirror, 2025 and most recently Remember Nature: Intra-actions, 2025. Throughout, she has worked closely with our resident artists and collaborators to deliver the programme.
