‘The Arts’ have always played a huge part in both my personal and professional life.’

As a trustee of Art Gene I represent local stakeholders experiencing Art Gene’s work on the ground.
Barrow in Furness and it’s area need continued, and sustained real opportunities, for local people to immerse themselves in arts lead projects. Through engagement with the community established over many years, Art Gene provides outward looking, thought provoking and at times, challenging concepts to engage with.

They positively and realistically promote our area on the national stage.

As a Head teacher of an Infant school I saw how our children loved opportunities to work alongside experienced professional artists. Children can learn how art can afford opportunities and enrich and enhance life and well being. This has never been more important than today.
